Terms of Service
Last updated: October 2026. These terms apply to every quote, order and print made by 3D Print on Campus (“we”, “us”), an independent business in Vancouver, British Columbia.
1. Quotes and estimates
The on-site estimator gives a price range from your file geometry and is not an offer. A quote we email is firm for 14 days and is based on the file, material, colour, quantity and finish described in it. Changes to any of these may change the price.
2. Orders and payment
- An order is accepted when we confirm it in writing and payment has been received.
- Payment is due in full before printing starts, by Interac e-Transfer or card. Lab and business customers may be offered invoicing with payment on delivery.
- Prices are in Canadian dollars. Applicable taxes are added where we are registered to collect them and will be shown on your invoice.
3. Your files and intellectual property
- You confirm that you own the design or have permission to have it printed, and that printing it does not infringe anyone’s copyright, trademark, patent or design rights.
- You keep all rights to your design. We print it only for you, keep it private, and delete it after the period in our Privacy Policy.
- You agree to cover any claim made against us because a design you supplied infringed someone else’s rights.
4. What we will not print
- Firearms, firearm parts, receivers, magazines, suppressors, or any computer file that can be used to make them. Possessing or sharing such files is an offence under section 102.1 of the Criminal Code of Canada and will be reported.
- Other weapons, prohibited devices, or items that are illegal to make, own or sell in Canada.
- Copies of trademarked or copyrighted products, characters or logos intended for resale.
- Parts whose failure could cause injury, such as pressure vessels, climbing or lifting hardware, and medical devices, unless agreed in writing for a prototype that will not be used in service.
We may decline any job at our discretion. If we decline after payment, the payment is refunded in full.
5. Tolerances and quality
- Fused-filament parts have a typical dimensional tolerance of ±0.3 mm or ±0.2 % of the dimension, whichever is larger. Holes print slightly undersize. Layer lines, small seams and support marks are normal for the process.
- We do not guarantee that parts fit other components unless a fit test has been agreed and paid for.
- Colour may vary between spools and from screen swatches.
- Strength depends on material, orientation and infill. Parts are not certified for any load, temperature or safety-critical use.
- Files you sliced yourself (print-ready 3MF) are printed exactly as sent. Results caused by your print settings, such as supports, orientation, infill, temperatures or layer height, are not defects. We reprint or refund only when the machine or our handling caused the problem.
6. Turnaround and delivery
- Ready dates are estimates. Standard turnaround is 1-2 days from payment; rush turnaround is 24 hours when a machine is available and is charged as quoted.
- Pickup is at the location and time confirmed with your order. Orders not collected within 30 days may be disposed of without refund.
- Orders are handed over in person on the UBC campus. If we agree to ship an order, it travels at your risk once handed to the carrier; we pack carefully and provide tracking, and claims for carrier damage are made with the carrier.
7. Defects, reprints and refunds
- Tell us within 7 days of delivery if a part is defective (does not match the approved file, material or quantity, or has a print failure). We will reprint it or refund that part.
- Defects caused by the design itself, by changes you did not tell us about, or by wear, heat or misuse after delivery are not covered.
- Because every part is custom, orders cannot be cancelled once printing has started. If you cancel before that, we refund everything except any file-preparation work already done.
8. Limitation of liability
Our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect losses such as lost time, lost profit or costs of substitute parts. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under British Columbia law.
9. Privacy
Personal information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy, in line with the British Columbia Personal Information Protection Act.
10. General
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and Canada. If any part is unenforceable, the rest still applies. We may update these terms; the version in force when you order applies to that order.
