Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026. 3D Print on Campus is a small business in Vancouver, British Columbia. This policy explains what we collect when you ask for a quote or place an order, and what we do with it. It follows the British Columbia Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
What we collect
- Contact details: your name, email address and, if you give it, a phone number.
- Order details: material, colour, quantity, notes, delivery choice, and your 3D files or links to them.
- Payment details: we see the name on an Interac e-Transfer or the confirmation from our card processor. We never see or store full card numbers.
- Website use: the price estimator measures your file in your browser. When exact pricing is switched on (the estimator says so), an STL, STEP, OBJ or unsliced 3MF you drop into it is sent to our own slicing computer to calculate the price and is deleted as soon as the price is back. We keep the file name in a short technical log, not the file. A 3MF you sliced yourself is never uploaded by the estimator.
Why we collect it
To quote and produce your order, to contact you about it, to arrange pickup or shipping, to keep the records that Canadian tax law requires, and to resolve any problem with an order. We do not use your details for marketing unless you ask us to.
Who sees it
- The people who run this business.
- Service providers we need to complete your order: our email provider, the form service that delivers order requests (if enabled), our payment processor, and the shipping carrier (name, address and phone for delivery). Some of these providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States.
- Authorities, if the law requires it.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we never publish, reuse or share your designs.
How long we keep it
- 3D files and links: deleted 30 days after delivery, unless you ask us to keep them for reorders.
- Order and payment records: kept for 7 years as required by the Canada Revenue Agency.
- Email correspondence: kept while needed to support the order and then deleted periodically.
How we protect it
Files and records are stored on password-protected, encrypted devices and accounts with two-factor authentication. Access is limited to the people who need it to complete your order.
Your choices
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted (except records we must keep by law). Email us and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
